What is TNR?

TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) is the most humane, most effective, and least expensive method for addressing overpopulation of stray and feral cats in a community. Community cats, whether feral (wild) or stray, are humanely trapped and transported to designated low-cost spay-neuter clinics for surgery and vaccinations. Their left ear is also tipped, the universal sign that a community cat has been neutered and vaccinated. After recovery, they are returned to their outdoor homes. Occasionally, cats and kittens are found which are not suitable for return to the outdoor environment. These may be fostered by our partner organization, the Wilson County No Kill Animal Shelter, until they can be adopted.
